Understand the practical uses of math, science, and engineering.

Mechanical engineers design, develop, build, and test mechanical and thermal sensors and devices. Mechanical engineering is about solving complex problems that are not limited to a certain product or device.

Mechanical engineers can expect to do the following:

  • Solve problems using their expertise in mechanical devices
  • Design and redesign devices to improve performance
  • Develop and test prototypes of all kinds of products and devices

Our dual-degree program with the University of North Dakota (UND) allows you to complete a physics or chemistry degree at Baker while also earning an ABET-certified engineering degree from the UND while in residence at Baker.
