Monday, January 13, 2025 - Sunday, March 2, 2025
Using informational connected text (text on the same topic) is an evidence-based instructional strategy that supports vocabulary acquisition and comprehension in students. This course is designed for teachers who are seeking an intentional approach to accelerating reading comprehension in their students using Non-Fiction texts. Teachers in this course will be presented with a framework for using connected text in a small group or whole group setting. By the end of this course, teachers will leave with suggested text sets, sample lesson plans, and the understanding of how to implement this framework in their own classrooms. This course is appropriate for teachers working in grades K-8th or teachers who work with English Language Learners.
