Baker University Honored Among National Colleges of Distinction
Baker University has been recognized as one of the nation’s Colleges of Distinction for its business, nursing, and education programs.
This designation is based on an evaluation or four distinctions: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant community, and successful outcomes. Colleges of Distinction reviews an institution’s freshman experience and retention efforts alongside its general education programs, alumni success, strategic plan, and student satisfaction. It also evaluates qualities such as accreditation, breadth of program, and a track record for success. A key consideration is the school’s ability to blend the liberal arts with professional preparation.
“We’re proud of our nurses, educators, and business professionals who have used their liberal arts perspective to think critically and strive for innovation in their fields,” said Baker University President Lynne Murray. “Baker focuses on a well-rounded approach to education and career development, and this recognition underscores our reputation for academic excellence.”
Baker University has proven to be at the forefront of higher education with quality educators providing a student-centered approach to academic excellence. Baker also emphasizes critical thinking, inquiry, freedom of expression, inclusiveness, and service to the community.
“Colleges of Distinction is far more than a ranking list of colleges and universities,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer for Colleges of Distinction. “We seek out the schools that are wholly focused on the student experience, constantly working to produce graduates who are prepared for a rapidly changing global society. Now recognized as a College of Distinction, Baker University stands out in the way it strives to help its students to learn, grow, and succeed.”
