Delta Mu Delta
About
Through Knowledge, Power
Delta Mu Delta is a national honor society for students of business administration. Acceptance into the society is the highest national honor a business student can earn. Membership brings with it a lifetime of prestige, recognition, and opportunity. Baker’s chapter was installed in 1996.
Delta Mu Delta was formed in 1913 by five professors of commerce, finance, and accounts at Harvard, Yale, and New York University. As the organization has evolved, it has gained membership in the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) and become the national honor society in business administration. Since 1992, Delta Mu Delta has partnered with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
In addition to providing public recognition to business students who have distinguished themselves in their schools of business, Delta Mu Delta also annually awards scholarships and recognitions to members based on academic record and performance, demonstrated leadership and service, and character and ethical behavior.
The Greek letters, DMD stand for Dia Matheseos Dynamis, signifying the motto of the Society, “Through Knowledge, Power.” To be awarded the Delta Mu Delta Key should be the ambition of every person who pursues a degree in business where Delta Mu Delta membership is possible.
